Gaming and Simulations Based Learning: Applications for Medicine Speaker: David Gaba received a BS in biomedical engineering from Northwestern
University, an MD from Yale University, and completed a residency
in anesthesiology at Stanford. He is a professor of anesthesia at
the Stanford School of Medicine, a fellow at CHP/PCOR, and Associate
Dean of Immersive and Simulation-based Learning. Dr. Gaba is a founder
of realistic patient simulation and the creator of Anesthesia Crisis
Resource Management, a training method used worldwide. He developed
and has managed the Patient Safety Center of Inquiry at the VA Palo
Alto Health Care System since the mid 1980's, a Center that has
been modeled by institutions around the World. Dr. Gaba is interested
