TATRC is charged with managing core Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) and congressionally mandated projects in telemedicine and advanced medical technologies.


Gaming and Simulations Based Learning: Applications for Medicine

Stanley Saiki, M.D.

Dr. Saiki received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1977 and a Master of Science in 1979 from the University of Hawaii before graduation from the University of Hawaii, John A Burns School of Medicine with a Medical Doctorate in 1983.

Dr. Saiki is Director of the Pacific Telehealth and Technology Hui , a Department of Defense/Veterans Affairs Joint Venture, at the Tripler Army Medical Center and Director of Clinical Informatics at the VA Honolulu.
He has spearheaded several research projects related to data warehousing, data interoperablility, clinical telemedicine, and electronic medical record development. Dr. Saiki currently serves as Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine and is a principle investigator for the UH TOUCH Project, a "virtual" teaching tool for medical schools.
